This story is inspired by John Bianchi’s years of experience visiting schools across North America.

Principal Slugmeyer’s classic case of mistaken identity adds a nice twist to this celebration of reading, writing and sharing stories. It’s just a typical day of joyful confusion at Pokeweed Public School.
As usual, illustrator John Bianchi’s illustrations add a generous dash of humour to a wonderfully warm story that reflects the day to day routine that every young reader will recognize. And along the way, he teachers the students (and his readers) how to write a good story. It’s all about a good idea — and the beginning, the middle and the end.
